How do you move around in the dream world when you want to go somewhere? Most of the techniques you use at the moment aren’t very convenient.
It takes a long time to fly somewhere exotic. You can’t fly anywhere in an instant, so you should just sit back and enjoy the ride.
Conjuring up dream portals is a good way to get around, but it could take a while to conjure one up. You could walk through a wall, but what if there isn’t any around.
What can you do if you want to transport yourself anywhere within a second?
Jumping into drain holes
When I was younger I used to have very vivid dreams that took place on an island. They weren’t lucid dreams, but they felt real and they still do to this day. When I wanted to transport myself to different parts of the island I used to jump into drain holes. I would jump in and come out somewhere else.
When I say jump I really mean I’d dive in like an Olympic diver. Lucky I wasn’t lucid, because I didn’t think anything of taking the plunge into a hole no bigger than the hole on a golf course. I obviously don’t use the same technique, but it did inspire the technique I now use.
The Drop Technique
99% of the time you’re going to be standing on the ground. To transport yourself to a new place you just need to drop through the ground. I’ve not found a faster way to change your surroundings and ‘The Drop Technique’ is easy.
In a perfect world you’ll be able to drop straight through the ground, but when you’re starting out it might be better to use an easier version of the technique.
The easy version
You need to trick your mind into thinking you can actually pass through the ground like a ghost. In the beginning it’s easier if you fall to the ground at high speed. So jump in the air or jump off a step. When you hit the ground you’ll pass straight through.
The hard (but best) version
This one is a little harder because you won’t hit the ground so fast. Lift off the ground so you’re balancing on your toes. You can also balance on the toes of one foot if you prefer. Then take the weight off your toes so you drop back to the ground. You should go straight through it.
Your chosen destination
Before you drop through the ground you need to decide where you want to go. Visualize the exact environment you want to land it otherwise you could end up anywhere. Don’t forget to tell yourself you’re going to end up there before you use the technique.
Once you master the technique you’ll be able to visualize and drop within seconds.
You can also change things about a specific environment. For example, if you were standing on the road beside a car you could drop into the same environment except this time the car would be replaced by a motorbike.
Two main problems
Every technique has its own set of problems. The Drop Technique has two big problems you should be aware of although I think you might be able to guess one of them:
Problem 1 – failure to set intentions
When you drop through the ground you’ll only go where you want to go if you set strong enough intentions. Luckily this is the same problem that pops up in multiple techniques, so if you end up in the right place when you walk through a door you should be able to end up in the right place when you drop through the ground.
Problem 2 – everlasting free fall
You might not fall into a new environment directly underneath the one you want to reach. You might keep falling through multiple levels. This is fun and you’ll witness something truly special, but it doesn’t help you get to where you want to go. This is another problem that will disappear if you have a strong mind.
Stop wasting time
The next time you want to go somewhere in a hurry you should drop through the ground using the technique. Lucid dreams don’t last forever and if you can move around quickly you’ll have more time to enjoy yourself.
